The Culling came, but we had nothing to cull. So we moved to Magheddo, there the hot light upon our heads, embracing us. We were lead into depths unsearchable & saturated by dark matter, piercing our thoughts. We were set free. Almost. Long live Black Faction." Foreign Terrain is the musical alter-ego of Andrew Diey (sounds like "Day"), Soleilmoon Recordingsí most recent signing. "LP1" is his first project for the label. Itís a cool electronic trip, a chilled cloud of smooth beats and deep red lounge lights glowing against the black summer sky. It is a new page in Ambient Dub.
Inspired and encouraged by his friend and fellow Manchester, UK resident Bryn Jones, the late creator of Muslimgauze, Diey recorded this album and issued it as a very limited edition CDR release. Now we're bringing it to a wider audience for the first time. Although the connection to Muslimgauze is undeniable, "LP1" is an album that establishes Day as an artist speaking with his own voice, and any homages to Muslimgauze are vanishingly subtle. Future releases by Foreign Terrain and his other incarnation, Black Faction, will establish Andrew Diey as an artist with a solid body of work and a world-wide following. This is just the beginning!
