About this deal

Quote from: GarryMartin on October 19, 2015, 05:46 AM Doesn't the Deros use a "kettle" connector? Could you not get a re-wireable one of those? This plug-it will allow you to "Festoolize" your various machines to make them compatible with the Festool connector system. All you have to do is acquire the brand's simple connector online and you're done!

Dadgum that's close. That pigtail is 16 AWG and I would really like 14 AWG as that's what's attached to the DE hose, but that may have to work. Thanks for all the great information, I have wanted to change some of my dewalt and porter cable tools to plug it ends, and this information helps greatly. But i do have one question.

And don't forget to put the Plug-it cover on the power cord BEFORE you clamp those wires down, otherwise you'll get to take them out and do it over!

I did have the Mirka Deros myself, and it is a brilliant sander. However it is not convertable to Plug It because it does not have a double insulated two stranded power cord like most other machines do - pretty much every other machine out there has it and I have converted many non Festool machines to Plug It, maybe twenty-twenty five of them. SUCESS!! You now know WHICH Plug-It conversion fits on which US Plug-It cord. This works out particularly well if you have a 16 ga Plug-It cord strapped to your DE hose like many here do. One of the most commonly asked questions on the FOG is about using Plug-It cords on other tools. This thread will attempt to answer all those questions. I will endeaver to get everything right the first time, but - contraty to poular belief - I'm not perfect.

All it took so far was to drill the tiny holes to make room for the small thingies. Obviously placement was critical but it didn't take more than 10 minutes total. In which case I'm with Edward - buy a second cable and leave it permanently connected to the boom arm and have both it and a Plug-It attached to an extension lead that is *then* plugged into the CT.
