Garrett Ace 250 Metal Detector
About this deal
Powerful enough to detect gold, the AT Pro uses Digital Target ID, ranging from 0 to 99, to estimate how potentially worthwhile an object is to dig up. When you locate an object, a number will be displayed on the screen. The higher the number, the more likely it is that an object is worth excavating. All this before even taking out your trowel!

It’s a good performer and the controls generally do what they say. I love the fact I could just switch it on and go, then later as my confidence improved I adjusted the sensitivity and eliminated drink can tabs. The 250 has three different tones that indicated what metal I’d found without looking at the display. We found that when the different components on a detector snapped together, this provided a sturdier frame than those that were screwed together. Also, the component of the metal detector that rests on your forearm should be large and comfortable, as we found that much of the weight of the detector rests on this spot. Detectors that had a small forearm rest often slipped off our arm and were harder to control. Sensitivity settings are a must-have when you’re searching for metals. Larger items will have no problem interacting with the electromagnetic waves the device produce. But what about smaller objects?
