Handmade in small batches in the Lake District, this particular flavoured vodka is inspired by a famous local confection – Kendal Mint Cake – a variety of peppermint tablet that seems to have originated in Kendal, Cumbria in 1880 and is still made there today by two of the original three manufacturers. Famous for being taken on the first ascent of Everest by Sir Edmund Hillary in 1953, it’s a bit of a local legend. So when a local publican discovered an ancient recipe for mint vodka in his loft he was determined to use it to share Kendal’s sugary speciality with the wider world. Winery; partners Harry and Stacey are bringing winemaking to the North. They are making minimal intervention wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Bacchus. When the mixture was left overnight, it solidified into a solid bar of powerful peppermint and Kendal Mint Cake was born. Kendal Mint Cake is also an important part of our heritage.

We particularly love it as an addition to a hot chocolate or mixed with the delicious white chocolate liqueur Coole Swan, for a creamy mint-choc taste sensation.
